  • What should I expect from a first session?
    First sessions can look different for everyone. I personally like to keep the first session as a catch up or a rant about the most random topic on this planet. I dont follow a structure where I will ask you your entire history in one go. I would let you decide when you feel comfortable sharing whatever you want to disclose. So come prepared with the most random topic or a rant and I'm all ears.
  • How do I know I need therapy?
    I believe that therapy can be beneficial to anyone, no matter their circumstances. If you find yourself struggling to deal with your emotions, getting overwhelmed or not understanding your emotions, facing flashbacks, anxiety or just need a judgement free space to vent, therapy is for you! If you’re not sure if you need therapy, you can schedule a 15 minute introduction call to get to know me and I will answer any questions you may have regarding therapy!
  • How many sessions do I need to get better?
    The number of sessions you attend is completely up to you. I believe you can take responsibility and make an informed decision about how long you would like to attend sessions. Ultimately, you know yourself best, so you are in the best position to decide when and if you would like to reduce or stop attending sessions.
  • What if I can't afford the session fee?
    Yes, Katha Mental Health offers both sliding scale and pro bono slots for those who are unable to afford regular counseling services. Please contact me to learn more about the available options.
  • What do I do if I cant reach my therapist?
    If you need assistance in an emergency and your therapist is unavailable because it is out of working hours, you can email or text them to let them know it is an emergency. If they do not respond on their off day, please reach out to the helplines and other resources provided in the resources section!
