Our Team
Shipra Parswani
she/her
I'm Shipra (she/her). Im a counseling psychologist and the founder of Kathaa Mental Health. My approach is very eclectic in nature. I like to incorporate different techniques from different schools of thought depending on whats the comfortable process for you! My approach is all about putting you at the center of our session planning. We'll work together to figure out exactly what you need, and then take it from there in a way that feels comfortable and natural for you. I've been in the field of mental health advocacy and training since I was 18. Beyond my practice, I'm also the director of an NGO called Plane Jar Welfare Foundation. This organization primarily focuses on supporting survivors of abuse and others who require the right blend of mental health and legal assistance. My work allowed me to interact and understand different communities which shaped my approach to be more inclusive and intersectional (and I'm still learning everyday.)
I also like to use a trauma informed approach which means i like to understand how our body plays a role in our emotions. Sometimes, when our mind can't take too much, we prefer to push things down the deep end, and so our body does the remembering for us. I like to help you discover how Your body holds a lot of feelings. I like to work with the body and the mind as a whole where we can understand and connect with our bodies in a whole manner. I draw techniques from somatic therapy, part work, inner child modalities and body based approaches.
I work Mondays- Saturdays from 11am -8pm. My charges are 1500 per session for Indian clients and 2550 for individuals living and working abroad independently.
Varnaya Sanghvi
she/they
Meet Varnaya ( she/they), a dedicated therapist with a wealth of experience spanning diverse settings of organizations and NGOs. They have worked in several areas such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship, and attachment style. They are queer affirmative and neurodiversity inclusive in their practice.
Their experience has allowed them to gain a unique understanding of the therapeutic experience, and they believe in approaching the therapeutic process from a compassionate and trauma-informed perspective.
Their practice is an eclectic blend of Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative therapy, a strength-based approach corresponding to the current socio-political framework.
They strongly believe that a client is an expert in their own life, and their role is to provide a safe, warm, and accepting environment for their clients to explore their strengths and challenges. They believe that therapy is a tool through which one person meets themselves, a self that is based on authenticity and connection. They focus on internal safety building, acceptance, self-compassion, distress tolerance, and connection with one's community as an integral process of meeting oneself.
I work Thursday and Saturdays from 11am -8pm. My charges are 1500 per session for Indian clients and 2550 for individuals living and working abroad independently.
